About a month ago, I met up with Nataly from Literally Nataly at a tea shop in London. I had just written my post about 'Raising The Conscious Community Through Circular Collaboration' and we started brainstorming ideas that would allow us to support each other, other bloggers, and the community as a whole.

Somewhere in the midst of the cosy chat, we came up with an idea to create a collaborative blog post with other UK connected bloggers featuring UK brands. It would be a way for us to support conscious companies and fellow creatives, while also pushing our #ShopLocal ideals.

We started out by inviting those we already knew. I had met and fell for Kate from ECO BOOST doing our own little collab a few week before hand, and had experienced the same coup de foudre with Katie from SAIINT SISTERS and Fran from ETHICAL UNICORN when I met them as well, so the gaggle of those girls were the first ones to join us. I'd been hoping to meet Jen from SUSTAINABLE EDIT since I started blogging, so I wrote her up and coaxed her to come down from Scotland for the shoot. Then an online pal JELLA JOURNALES happened to be in England from the Philippines visiting her family so we invited her as well, and finally, Kate suggested Karen of N4 MUMMY, who I am so grateful I got to meet, and our group was complete.

We joined forces in organising and executing the shoot, gathering our favourite ethical and sustainable brands in the United Kingdom in a bid to help prove that there is enough variety in ones own country from those genuinely embodying the future this world needs to give consumers a choice. We hoped by creating this lookbook, we could help spread the word that shopping consciously doesn't call for compromise in aesthetics nor functionality, and there is enough variety where you are to avoid shipping yourself products from other parts of the world.

We attempted to mimic the aesthetics of mainstream content creators, while not taking ourselves too seriously, on our super bare bones budget shoot. In the end, we let London's beauty lead us through its stunning settings creating a magical giggly day of it that went by in a whirl.

My husfriend, Kate's husband, and Nataly's husband kindly offered to be our shooters and sherpas, aiding us without complaint for the duration of the shoot days and all that came before and after the cameras snapped and rolled.

Below is the female fashion side of our gift guide, we're each dressed head to toe in clothing and accessories that are consciously created British brands. It was such a stunning experience getting to meet and work alongside all these beautiful humans in person while collaborating with such conscious companies. It gave me hope for the world we all work towards, and I hope it will inspire you all to shop green, shop fair, and shop local this holiday season (and beyond).

ECO + ETHICAL HOW? Founded in 2016, Gung Ho Design combines a whimsical aesthetic with designs that are versatile, high quality, and filled with deeper meaning and purpose. Each print is designed by hand by founder Sophie Dunster; created to be both beautiful and to connect people with environmental issues through the designs themselves, and with each purchase Gung Ho donates to a corresponding charity working with this cause. Each piece is made from organic cotton which is hand printed in the UK using responsible dyes, whilst the final collection is handmade in London. The garments are also wrap designs, meaning that only two sizes need to be made, XS/S and M/L. Not only does this mean the clothes can fit any body type, and adjust alongside our bodies as we change through the years, but it also reduces waste caused by creating garments in many size variations.
